Community education by VOICE, Inc.
Learn to sign from a qualified instructor in an engaging classroom setting in Midland. You'll be surprised at how much you can learn!
Location
Learners will attend class in the Thies Learning Center at the VOICE office. Our address is 3200 James Savage Rd, Ste 1, Midland, MI 48642.
Cost
Course registration costs $130 for community members. VOICE employees can receive discounted registration by contacting the office.
Schedule
One beginner course will be offered in fall of 2025. The course will run for a total of 10 sessions over 10 weeks.

Classes are held 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Instruction
The course will be taught by our founder, Peggy Melzo.
Peggy, a CODA, Child of Deaf Adults, and once certified interpreter grew up in a bilingual family with American Sign Language as her second language. She along with some other prominent individuals, formed VOICE to provide centralized interpreter referrals and other support services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. VOICE was founded to break the communication barrier and give equal access to all.

Originally founded by a group of Deaf and Hard of Hearing community members and educators in 1984, VOICE has served hundreds of individuals, businesses, and organizations annually in the Saginaw Bay Valley. Our primary programs currently include Community Living Supports and Interpreting.
